SprocketR Project Proposal

Overview:

The SprocketR web application makes it possible to generate 3D printable sprockets as a .stl or .dxf based off of a user specified gear ratio, desired center to center distance of the sprockets, and chain size. Blender via Python scripts is used to generate the sprockets while PHP to make a web interface.

lock button for fields to make field unchangeable in final sprocket
approximate button for fields to make dimension approximate
sprocket generation as .stl or flat as a .dxf
infill calculator base on torque
ability to add mounts: vesa hub, terix hub
Can generate compatible versions around a COTS sprocket
graphic web application for quick and easy interpretation

Use Cases:

A robotics team needs a better sprocket to ensure that there is no loose chain between two sprockets, and uses the SprocketR to make a custom sprocket that minimizes loose chain.
A hobbyist wants a tool to make a better sprocket
