Amulets is the solo project of Austin-based audio + visual artist Randall Taylor. Through the exploration of cassette manipulation, circuit bending, and looping, Amulets blurs genres of ambient, drone, noise, and electronic music. The audio and visual components of Amulets exploit the imperfections of analog magnetic tape, specifically cassettes and vhs, in order to create visceral experiences that are simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic.

The music of Amulets comes from pre-recorded, handmade cassette tape loops and live guitar looping. These cassette tape loops are run through 2 vintage 4 track tape recorders and processed through a variety modified and unmodified guitar effect pedals. All this equipment has also been custom fitted into an old suitcase and aptly named the SUITCASE OF DRONE (https://youtu.be/MIiC0DSmLDE)
