The BeagleBone Power Cape is a power supply and control cape for the BeagleBone that combines a dynamic power path manager and lithium battery charger with a buck/boost regulator and power supervisor to enable a variety of operating scenarios. For example, you can use the BeagleBone from the single-cell Lithium battery, a DC power source, or a combination of the two. You can have the BeagleBone power up on DC power restore, configurable timeout, or an external signal. In addition, the AVR provides a real-time clock function as well as configurable watchdogs for power-up and power-down of the system. System software can track the battery voltage and current via the INA219 power monitor on the battery interface.

The Robot Group

The Robot Group is a group of robotics enthusiasts from all walks of life. We have electrical engineers, machinists, programmers, teachers, students, all of whom have a desire to learn about and build robots. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization we have a mission to educate the public about technology through robotics. It’s our goal to demonstrate how fun and easy robotics can be, what the new technologies offer, what they can and cannot do, and raise the public’s general understanding of technology. We do this through hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and outreach.
