Harmony Public Schools promotes STEM education throughout the state at 45 campuses. Harmony`s very own STEMSOS model incorporates maker culture into its curriculum deeply. Students will be presenting some of the projects that they had developed in high school engineering class such as DIY Raspberry Pi Tablet PC, Arduino controlled 5x5x5 LED Cube, DIY Radio, Raspberry Pi Gameboy and Arcade, all-in-one Raspberry Pi Desktop PC, Arduino based weather station, 3d printing models for classrooms (Human organs, no assembly required functional tools etc.) This unique educational approach will serve as good representation to how being a maker can be integrated into a classroom setting.
I have a fully functional droid that I have been working on for approximatly 7 months. He’s half the size of a typical r2d2 until but twice as cool. Maybe I’m just partial to him haha. He weighs about 75 pounds and is made out of various metals including steel, copper, brass and aluminum. The frame is made out of wood and the siding is bamboo flooring, has a meat slicer attachment for the dome tensioner and bunsen burners on his shoulders. Lots of other gadgets on him as well.
Cognitive Candy is an internet connected candy dispensing machine. Candy gives away treats to people if she “feels” like doing so. If you want to receive a candy all you have to do is engage with her in a friendly conversation. Depending on her mood she may simply want to have some “small talk” about the weather. Maybe she has few questions for you, such what’s you favorite sports team.
After meeting Candy you’ll see she’s not your average machine, and in fact has a sweet personality.
