Play-Well TEKnologies

Kids are natural engineers, we help them realize it. Play-Well provides hands on learning and fun inspired by LEGO. We teach STEAM concepts through playing. Come build with us!

Austin Homeschool Science League

A competitive homeschool Science Olympiad team for middle and high school aged students in Travis and Hays Counties. Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events in genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation.

SPARK

Before you make, you must break. SPARK (Social Play And Real Knowledge) is a home school Young Maker Club in Austin, Texas. We deconstruct electronics and re-purpose the harvested components into new hacked inventions.

Delptronics

Delptronics has built a large 60×32 LED Matrix. We are certainly not the first people to think of using addressable LED strips to create a display, however, we want to do something more interactive than just a simple sign, slide show viewer, or low-res video wall. What Delptronics plans to do is to write a game engine specifically for the Matrix. Developers will be able to write apps and games targeting the Matrix using the Processing environment on their own computers without needing to have an actual LED Matrix. We also intend to use the experience gained through this project to produce circuit boards that will make it easier for other people to build their own Matrix.

Glow-in-the-Dark Pendulum Waves

This display of pendulums sings the music of the universe in patterns that resemble harmonic waves. In the time it takes the longest one to swing 50 times, the next one swings 51, then 52 and so on. The result is a changing array of patterns that are mesmerizing.
